De-Stress with Progressive Muscle Relaxation
Progressive Muscular Relaxation (PMR) is a technique based on Dr. Edmund Jacobson's relaxation method from the 1920s. Here are key points about PMR : a) The technique involves tightening one muscle group while keeping the rest of the body relaxed, then releasing the tension. b) It helps in distinguishing between muscular tension and relaxation, which is beneficial for those accustomed to being tense. c) PMR is useful for individuals who struggle to let go of muscle tension and need step-by-step training to understand relaxation sensations.
